A Tribute in Honor of: MANNY
"MANNY", BIS GCH VANDERBILT'S MAN 'O WAR, CD CGN TT TDI RAE Am RN, was born to be a show dog and loved every minute when in the ring whether being specialled or shown in  junior handling. He began his show career at barely six months of age by taking Best In Specialty Sweeps and RWD all three consecutive days of the specialty weekend...to three different adult males. We acquired him shortly after and finished out the show year with him winning several Best Puppy In Show, a Group First and many placings. He ended the year as Top Winning Samoyed Puppy in Canada. As a two year old he was THIRD TOP SAMOYED IN CANADA with a Best In Show, four Group Firsts and many placements.
He began going to obedience classes at eight months of age and enjoyed it as a week night social activity to off set his busy show weekends. He responded to all the praise and special treats with quick responses and great pride in his performance. Strangers would come just to watch his performance in the rally ring. He earned his Rally Novice title the first year that CKC recognized raly and then added both his Rally Advanced and Excellent titles in February of the following year. He completed his Rally Advanced Excellent Title in 2010, the first Samoyed in Canada to earn all four titles...plus he was the First Samoyed in Canada to attain his Grand Championship in conformation. He added several other performance titles to his name proving his versatile nature and truly 'balanced' representative of the breed. His 'pretty head' also contained an intelligent brain and a loving personality that was non-male aggressive.
Over the years Manny added more specialty accolades to his resume with an Award of Merit at the 2004 SAC National at sixteen months, a Best Opposite Sex at the Ontario specialty that fall and then capped it off with an Award of Merit at the 2012 SAC National at 9 1/2 years of age...and was top scoring Samoyed in rally the same day. He added a couple of best of breed wins and a Group Third the following month to end his conformation career.
Manny has always been our number one house dog and sleeps in the bedroom with us every night. He is enjoying his senior years spending more time snoozing on the couch and having us home all the time now that we have retired from work.
He is proud of the five champions he has with his half-sister, Tenny:
